My Tiny Garden

Posted by Lilla under Gardening

I’m so excited because today I saw that some of my seeds were sprouting in their starter pots. Which is kind of misleading because I didn’t use pots. I used one of the cardboard egg cartons that came with the eggs I purchased.  I got the idea from ” Newspaper, Pennies, Cardboard, and Eggs–For Growing a Better Garden: More than 400 New, Fun, and Ingenious Ideas to Keep Your Garden Growing Great All Season Long” which I purchased just before Christmas/Yule.  Read the rest of this entry »

What the heck?

Since I started writing this blog and began using advertising, I get really annoyed with the automated ads that get thrust upon me from time to time.  I want you all to know that I am aware of the inconsistencies that show up from time to time, and am working on a better filter for the ad content.

Amazon is keyword driven, and at times the products that are featured with my articles are conflicting with my views.  For instance, the insecticide that was being featured under my article for NATURAL PEST DETERRANTS.  I saw that this morning and was both annoyed and amused.

There is a way to get adverts that are consistent with my content, I know there is!!!  I will prevail in this, I promise.  Until I get it managed… bear with me and ignore those ads that seem really out of place.

My Gardening Plans

Posted by Lilla under Gardening

Hi again!  Well I have plans to grow a container garden this year.  I want some tasty fresh tomatoes, beans, cucumbers and well pretty much anything else I can get to grow in a pot.  And according to this site, http://journeytoforever.org/garden_con.html, practically anything that will hold dirt/soil can be used.

I’m looking at composting on a small scale, and this site gave a very detailed approach that I plan to adapt to the SoCal region. http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/organic/msg1216242314245.html

I’ve also picked up a really neat book as well that was put together by Roger Yepsen and the Editors of Organic Gardening magazine, Newspaper, Pennies, Cardboard & Eggs For Growing a Better Garden

I will be starting this fine project in February, after I get myself moved into a new apartment.  I will have a large patio to fill with potted plants.
